The Discussion

I thought it would be appropriate to outline the aim and purpose of this blog. First, we plan to utilize it as yet another method to disseminate information and solicit input form District residents. Second, the blog can also be used as a virtual comment box; that is, feel free to post questions, discussion topics, suggestions, or anything that you feel warrants attention. We would like to know the thoughts of all of the people involved in our school and community.
Please feel free to post any comment you wish!

Some questions for discussion:
1) What should be the aim of schools; what do you want your school to do?
2) What are the characteristics of successful schools and successful students?

We Are Working!

Well, it turns out that there was a problem with the comments... To make a long story short, I believe that the problem is solved. To address the issues raised regarding 21st century skills; I could not agree more. The issue that faces our school, and many others, is budget. Simply put, technology costs prohibit the District from making the BIG moves quickly. I can say that we have a decent plan in place and will be making many technological improvements in the next few years. The issue will quickly become getting staff and students to "take the plunge" and try something new with the technology... The goal is to make students responsible consumers AND producers of information; we are at a time where anyone can create web content simply and easily... The focus should be quality web content.

Welcome!

Welcome to the Prairie Farm Schools Blog. I hope to use this blog as a method to quickly disseminate information, ask and answer questions, and seek input from residents of Prairie Farm Schools. Please log on often!
Lets kick things off by asking a question: "What do you think are the biggest issues facing our schools and our students?"
